Advocates to Hold Worldwide #TigrayGenocide #StopWarOnTigray Protests, Call for End to War on Tigray
The brutal war in Ethiopia’s northern state of Tigray enters its third month as evidence mounts of war crimes and ethnic cleansing
Washington, DC – Two months ago, unelected Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, in coordination with Eritrean dictator Isaias Afwerki, launched a war against the elected regional government of Tigray. Despite Abiy Ahmed’s November 28 declaration of victory, this devastating war continues with no end in sight. The Ethiopian federal government has largely blocked communications and humanitarian aid in the region, over 60,000 refugees have fled to Sudan, and the war has displaced over one million people in Tigray itself. On Friday, January 8 , thousands will gather worldwide to protest the war and call attention to Ethiopian and Eritrean forces perpetrating mass destruction, war crimes, and ethnic cleansing against the people of Tigray.
