I read an article post How Did Ethiopia Get from There to Here: Questioning the Current Narrative authored by Elias Dawit. He has followed his narrative with the second part as promised ( part 2 ). The writer unmistakably elucidates the role of one of the key actors; explore the reasons behind and the underlying assumptions of contemporary Ethiopia. As to my knowledge the article states something that is necessary, verifiable, and attainable. However, it is not comprehensive. Due to this it may not deliver the full picture to the matter under discussion. Instead of enlightening I declaim this with enjoyment, wretchedness and muddle. The joy is because of the platform. The sadness is due to the unpredictable future. The muddle is because of the huge wrong perception; the incomplete facts here and there and not publicly communicated.

What is the worst thing that could happen if this platform doesn’t help the public to understand the reality is the main concern excessively! The reflection must bring get together the honest, knowledgeable and well informed people. Unless the Disclosure Laws prohibits, there are issues to discuss by the author or subsequently to his comment, I may head long my reflection too.

I agree with the writer there are two sides to every story. At a glance , let’s twisting the misleading questions include why such narrative was designed? Why counter narrative device doesn’t place by Getachew Assefa while Hailemariam Desalegn commits treason? According to Berlet and Lyons, "Conspiracies is a particular narrative form of scapegoating that frames demonized enemies as part of a vast insidious plot against the common good, while it valorizes the scapegoated as a hero for sounding the alarm". This is mainly designed from the evil narrative perhaps one of the oldest debates in human history. The winners including Hailemariam Desalegn used this conspiracy. They cannot change the natural truth but they can change the environment by creating illusion. The truth is out there. The counter narrative did not place by GA due to his strong belief on truth and the value of national interest.

Unfortunately using parable to pin down the quirks that form an enduring part of the story includes answering how the assortment of geography, history, population, politics, and culture that has made Ethiopia so disposed to encounter. Is there anybody knew what are the degree and impact of proxy politics in the region? Who is behind? What are the conspiracies on the foreign policy front? Why US-Russia-the EU-China require a new battle field for their collateral damage in the political and economic war? For how long was such struggle? What lesson we can draw from the coup of President Mohamed Morsi in Egypt? Why the intensified outbreak of the conflict in Yemen? What is the skirmish amid the Sunni and Shia in the Middle East now has a direct impact to Ethiopia? Why the so called representatives from Djibouti, Ethiopia, Sudan and Somalia are still financed by and gathered in Riyadh and other for a while unnamed countries?  Who bless the Saudi-led strategy? Why?

How and why the prime minister of Ethiopia opened the prisons, invited the exiled opposition back home, embraced Eritrea’s Isayas Afewerki, and announced the death of the developmental state , signed a peace deal that Saudi Arabia helped to broker? How and why in the Ethiopian capital a property developer from the UAE is working on the largest and most historic, expensive project? How and why the Ethiopian special military force financed by Riyadh? Why the UAE has had a military base in Eritrea since 2015 and is building another in Somaliland, a breakaway state in northern Somalia? What were Saudi business mogul positions to this? What are the deals with the UAE and Saudi Arabia, on one side, and Qatar and Turkey, on the other? What was TPLFs and Getachew Assefa’s position in particular? Why Hailemaruiam Desalegn and the group in power commit treason and conspire against national interest? Getachew Assefa knows, sound for intervention! Hailemariam Desalegn was well aware of the nature as well as the danger and urgent need for intervention. Despondently conspiracy and failure of decision led to failure of the whole nation.

Strength doesn’t come from winning as quiet endure. The environment should be put in the discussion of national security concerns. There is no current without the past. Getachew Assefa first duty was to scarify for reversing the substantial erosion of the constitutional value, which is national interest. What option might have while Djibouti not only hosts U.S, but France, which colonized the country, has a military base? China has opened its overseas military base in Djibouti. Saudi Arabia was expected to open in Eritrea which hosts UAE in the Red Sea. Turkey which is a rival of U.A.E. has opened military training center outside Mogadisho. Sudan has leased Suakin Island to Turkey for 99 years and is expected to build military base. U.A.E wants to take aerial bombardment to Houthi rebels in Yemen. Ethiopia is building Grand Renaissance Dam in the upper Nile to generate Hydro-electric power. But Egypt which receives almost 87% of the Nile River closely watches the Ethiopian Grand Renaissance Dam and trying to block any efforts to complete the project. Don’t be fooled by the media narration. The evil is in the details.

As far as we know Getachew Assefa’s first priority was national interest, internal power management was always a last resort. C ontinual reaffirmation and confirmation for more than one hundred seven million inhabitants! Ethiopia having unique national pride, not ever colonized by, victory of Adwa to defeat Italy and retain sovereignty was good determinant for Getachew Assefa to build national security platform as source of national pride too. He was and he is number one to connect past, present and future. Often stars inside our vicinity of the galaxy are over a billion ages younger or older than our star. This would incline to propose that, if evolution befalls at comparable rates on other planets. That uncertainty we communicated one of these stars with an unknown civilization. The hole in intelligence would be correspondent to the gap amid humans and bacteria. Indeed!

My focus for today is to raise concerns, indicate clues and expect intervention. Conferring to Rastafarian societies, Ethiopia is the biblical Zion systematically denied multiculturalism. It was filled with gigantic rebellions, blood stained coups, and demoralizing droughts, which carried about massive refugee and civil unrest. Famine in the 1980s caused death of more than a million people. The Communist element Dergue in Ethiopia diminished when the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991. Boundaries are still disputed. Most people in the high land are Christian while most people in the low land are Muslims. The country hadn’t built a political community grounded on the rule of law, peace, democracy and up on common value. The country’s first multiparty elections were held in 1995. The dominance of the Oromo, Amhara, and Tigray groups provides advantages when it comes to determining politics. Its’ historical legacy and conspiracy are where significant else.

Should national security issues decided through referendum? Eventually not, the Horn of Africa appears to be gearing towards a new order set off by a global competition of strategic interest by great powers in Africa. In addition to internal political upheavals, I may deal in the future, the competition is precipitated by a struggle for influence in the region by the US, Russia and China. Chinese and Russian influence is the anchor on which the US would like to destabilize the region. Memorizing that Bolton’s position and echoing the current US administration’s Africa policy, assistant secretary of state for African affairs, Tibor Nagy, in his testimony to congressional committee offered as, “China is asserting itself on the continent economically, militarily and politically. We must remain a positive alternative and make clear that engaging with the United States will mean greater prosperity and security for Africa.” Does this implication have a message to jeopardize Ethiopia’s national security or not? Important to keep this in perspective!

Proxy politics in the region is beyond explanation. Conspiracies on the foreign policy front the US-Russia-the EU-China require a new battle field for their collateral damage in the political and economic war. And a very large player in the new scramble is the United Arab Emirates, the Saudi-led strategy and backed by Egypt amid the Sunni and Shia in the Middle East now had a direct impact to Ethiopia. Is there anyone who knows the agreement from such countries with HD? Russia and Ethiopia had signed roadmap for establishing co-operation on the construction of a nuclear power plant in June 2017 and provide a path for Moscow to expand its technological influence. Will this be blessed by western multi transnational companies and the deep state actors? What deconstruction have Russia-Ethiopia agreement and US energy secretary Rick Perry approval of companies to begin preliminary work on advancing nuclear technology in Saudi Arabia? Someone can understand why and how this burden was and the treason of Hailemariam Desalegn and the individuals in power.

The Red Sea maritime dominion is outstanding theatre of this great power struggle and the rivalries of regional players include the European Union, Turkey, GCC countries, Israel and Iran. We have to sort every aspect of these issues to understand the real picture why such treason was committed by Hailemariam Desalegn and looking asylum in US. The acceleration of Gulf engagement has been mounting since early 2015. UAE has rented the port of Assab. In addition to UAE involvement in Somalia, KSA has now asked Somalia to break its relations with Iran. The conflict in Yemen now has Al-Qaeda, Al-Shabaab in the Arabian Peninsula operating in full control of ports that trade directly. The spread of Wahhabi-influenced radicalization in the Horn continues.
