San Jose, California. November 24, 2019: The last three years have been the most difficult time for our people in Ethiopia, especially so for the people of Tigray. The government, the extremist opposition parties, and their media outlets have been blackmailing and blaming the people of Tigray for all real and perceived wrongdoings of the Ethiopian government. ... The Abiy government should be ashamed to have caused all the killing and incarcerations to stop the inevitable!
The Merger having collapsed, Let us now focus on what Matters most to the Democratic Transition
Tsegaye Regassa Ararssa 11-21-19 - The fact that TPLF has stepped out of the EPP project has made matters easy for everyone. Now, legally, the evolution (i.e., merger) of EPRDF parties into EPP has officially failed. The merger process has collapsed. PM Abiy can now go ahead and form his new party as he is free to do that. However, he can't any more use the various organs of EPRDF to do that. Moreover, he cannot dissolve the parties that are members of the EPRDF coalition by mere fiat.
Note: In today's meeting of the late EPRDF leftover group, Abbo Lemma Mufriyat and Mustefe were not present according to KMN.
Ethiopia should agree to accept compensation for Egypt's demand to delay the filling of the Ethiopian Dam: a breakthrough for the stalled negotiations
Susana Ibrahim 11-21-19 - In a recent proposal presented by Egypt to the tripartite table of Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia, it demanded Lake Nasser to be kept at an absolute minimum of 165 meters above sea level. This requires Ethiopia to release 40 billion cubic meters of water every year.
Is political back-and-forth between the authors of (E) PP and the TPLF inevitable?
Gebrehiwot Hadush, Mekelle University, PhD student at KULeuven, Belgium 11-21-19 - (E) PP is an offshoot of the most ambivalent politics of 'Wuhid' party that has entertained big like by a unionist and big dislike by nationalists and advocates of strong states. The English version is even much controversial. The Abiy camp uses the term...

Saving the Ethiopian Airlines from Economic Predators
Buruke Alemayehu November 20, 2019 - Ethiopian Airlines is facing privatization-a neoliberal action-justified based on property rights. To its proponents, privatization begets economic development-no matter what the "short term" pain might be. But to the opponent of privatization of the common goods, such as this writer, it can come at too high a price to be paid by the majority of a people.

Transforming Ethiopia's Developmental State Model for Future Dynamism: A BOOK SUMMARY
A. Desta 11-20-19 -
In the book published by the Lambert Academic Publishing in October 2019, Professor Asayehgn Desta argues that in 2005, Ethiopia adopted and thrived by adjusting the East Asian State-Led Developmental state model to reflect its own historical conditions, enhance economic growth and wipe out poverty. After applying the developmental State Model from 2005 to 2015, Ethiopia remained...
Although the State media reported only six people opposed the transformation of EPRDF to EPP or PP, we have heard from a reliable source few from the Opdo/ODP and Southern People did not vote with a YES. The much-circulated picture from the meeting that shows Abbo Lemma and others raising their hands is a vote for setting the agenda for the day! Aigaforum Nov 20, 2019
Getachew Reda on why TPLF rejected Ahadawi/EPP party today!
TPLF was ready to discuss the study paper on transforming EPRDF into a single party but Abiy insisted everyone accept the idea without discussion and seeing the bylaw.
Although the media was told only 6 members rejected the idea, he knew more people did not vote yes!
TPLF wanted the agenda to be more on restoring peace and managing the deteriorating political and economic situation of the country.
The process to dissolve EPRDF is a long process.
WHAT ARE UNIVERSITIES FOR?
Yohannes Gebresellasie (Ph.d) ADDIS ABABA Nov 20, 2019 - Ethiopia has been envied by many nations for unity in diversity and for tolerance. Within the Ethiopian context therefore, differences in language, race and religion add color and beauty and not become causes for anarchy, destruction and lawlessness because those differences cannot take...
Ever tried revenge honey? It tastes good
The landscape of northern Ethiopia has been transformed over the last three decades by a regreening project that has turned degraded land into forest. This has had a positive impact on water supplies, and on wildlife - including bees. We're walking among the mature trees in the tree garden when they attack. It is totally unexpected and extraordinarily frightening.
