List of Border and Identity as well as National Peace and Reconciliation Commissioners
. Feb 5, 2019- As you all know The Tigrai regional parliament has rejected the border and identity commission as unconstitutional and logged a complaint. As expected the identity and border commission has no significant members from the Tigrai community! The two Tigrean Drs in the list namely, Gebru and Assefa were added to the list without their consent! The opposition to such commission from Tigreans is nearly universal!
Note: - According to the Ethiopian Constitution, any new law has to be posted on "Negarit Gazzetta" for it to become law and enacted. However, to date, the boundary and identity commission law has not been posted on "Negarit Gazeta"! Yet, the parliament and PM Abiy are busy appointing and approving commission members. Did our Oromo elites and elders know this is belittling them! Why can't they ask PM Abiy to have experienced professional advisors? Good or bad It is their government!

The Paradox of Free Market Democracy:Rethinking Development Policy
Amy L. Chua* - Markets and democracy are the twin pillars of prevailing development orthodoxy.' Many have explored the ways-"theoretical, historical, and empirical"-in which these two pillars are said to reinforce each other.By contrast, this Article will focus on an inherent instability in free market democracy.

On Peace and Conflict
Aesop 02/01/19 - During the eve of the Ethio-Eritrean war 20 years ago, Meles said: "we need each and every peaceful day!". He was talking about what economists term an opportunity cost, i.e., what one might do other than killing, dying, and destroying. A developmental state employs every day to save lives (health-care), enlighten masses (spread education), and link people (expand infrastructure). A developmental state spares no time for a foolish war.

Ethiopia Says Economy Imbalanced, Needs Corrective Actions
The Ethiopian economy isn't generating enough to pay off loans the state took to finance the Horn of Africa nation's ambitious infrastructure and development programs, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said.Government investment in projects such as Africa's biggest hydro-electric dam, sugar projects and a series of industrial parks across the nation have yet to earn sufficient foreign currency, he told lawmakers in the capital, Addis Ababa. Ethiopia has rescheduled 60 percent of its loan repayments to 30 years from 10 years, he said.

Release Teddy Manjus!- PM Abiy, we keep hearing you saying your government has no political prisoner nor any journalist in prison. We had like to believe you but what are you gaining by jailing Teddy Manjus(see picture)?. We do not know Teddy Manjus but from what we know from social media, he was a simple facebook user like Jahwar! Many people used to say EPRDF is its own worst enemy because of the many glaring wrongdoings EPRDF members were engaged in, are you becoming your own worst enemy by jailing without a cause this young man?Teddy was supposed to be freed on bail but somehow your government is holding him in jail. , you can do better than jailing Teddy! There is nothing positive Ethiopians will learn from his continuing imprisonment! Your government can do better! Let people with no crime go free. This is true from what we hear, you are making it hard for those who are willing to serve you as a minister and judge! You do not need to repeat what the government before you have done. Two wrongs do not make right!! Release Teddy Manjus, he was just like Jahwar!

IDENTITY POLITICS STRENGTHENS DEMOCRACY
Stacey Y. Abrams - Recent political upheavals have reinvigorated a long-running debate about the role of identity in American politics—and especially American elections. Electoral politics have long been a lagging indicator of social change. For hundreds of years, the electorate was limited by laws that explicitly deprived women, African Americans,...

Linguistic regionalization is debilitating rather than facilitating regional development in Ethiopia
Dr. Yohannes Aberra Ayele 2-1-19 - The rationale for regionalization is to use the devolution of political power as a means to ensure appropriate and sustainable regional development as an end. The primacy of economy over politics is out of the question. The success or failure of politics depends on how it manages or mismanages...

Politicizing Eritrea peace perpetuates conflict cycle
Mehari Taddele Maru 1-31-19 - Early last month, Ethiopia Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Eritrean President Isaias Afewerki opened the Humera-Oumhajer border. It was more progress that builds on the end of a long standoff between the two nations. The new crossing should allow movement of people as part of the normalization. Unfortunately, and in keeping with the turbulent history of Ethio-Eritrean relations, this positive event was tainted by news of more protests in border areas...

Unforgivable treachery and betrayal from comrades and friends
M.Gettaw Feb 1, 2019 - Growing up in a small community, my mom would always tell me how betrayal is the mother of all sins. I have heard it during my ethics and bible classes too. Especially, betrayals by your brother (like Kyle did to Abel), comrade or disciple (like Judah did to Jesus) are spiteful.

Ethiopia: 3 million internally displaced in escalating humanitarian crisis
euronews.comJanuary 31, 2019 - With three million internally displaced people, Ethiopia is going through one of the most severe - and under-reported - humanitarian crises in the world. The topic of refugees and displaced people will head the agenda at the Africa Union summit in Addis Ababa next month. ... [Never in our wildest dream did we think there will be enablers of a government that displaces so many people- all in the name of democracy! The economy is in shamble, people are killed and displaced every day, yet, there are people that see no wrongdoing about this government. These include the enablers from far- the right wing religious folks from the west! Weren't these people crying about the Somali region and the development of the Omo valley all in the name of indigenous people? Is there God really?]

STATEMENT FOR THE RECORD WORLDWIDE THREAT ASSESSMENT of the US INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY
January 29, 2019 - The states of East Africa will confront internal tension and a continuing threat from al-Shabaab, despite improved intergovernmental relations and Ethiopian-Eritrean rapprochement.
