(Amnesty International) - Women and girls in Tigray were targeted for rape and other sexual violence by fighting forces aligned to the Ethiopian government, Amnesty International said today in a new report into the ongoing Tigray conflict. The report, 'I Don't Know If They Realized I Was A Person': Rape and Other Sexual Violence in the Conflict in Tigray, Ethiopia, reveals how women and girls were subjected to sexual violence by members of the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF), the Eritrean Defense Force (EDF), the Amhara Regional Police Special Force (ASF), and Fano, an Amhara militia group.

Ethiopia [Abiy] urges citizens to join armed forces as conflict spreads
NAIROBI, Aug 10 (Reuters) - Ethiopia's government on Tuesday urged citizens to join the fight against resurgent Tigrayan forces now pushing beyond their own region in a nine-month-old war that has sparked a major refugee crisis.
The international community is making mistakes by babysitting this little dictator. Why is the international community waiting to see a huge influx of refugees on to the top of the developing famine situation in Tigray? The U.S alone can stop this senseless war of genocide if it wants to. Tigrayans have endured so much pain hoping against hope that the international community will play its role. It is really sad to see the international community failing them. Abiy and his foot soldiers have one option left-sign on the dotted line and save lives. Otherwise, it is ሓዝ ክ ሕዝ time meshreft!

Update 08-09-21 - The capital of North Wello, Woldiya town is under full control of Tigray Forces. The town is the largest town next to Dese in Wello Amhara region. The town was encircled for days by Tigray forces. It is now under their full control. Tigray forces took extra caution before entering the town to avoid civilian casualties. According to frontline reporters, the Tigray Army deployed in the area is pushing forward towards Dese. Abiy hiding places is shrinking everyday. Aigaforum, 09, 2021
