How Local Guerrilla Fighters Routed Ethiopia's Powerful Army
SAMRE, Ethiopia - The Tigrayan fighters whooped, whistled and pointed excitedly to a puff of smoke in the sky, where an Ethiopian military cargo plane trundling over the village minutes earlier had been struck by a missile. The New York Times is the record holder of all major news in the Western hemisphere. It is a respected newspaper. So much so it has a storyline in 1887 about Ras Alula Aba Nega the renowned Tigrayan General who defeated the Egyptians and Italians in late 1800. It is worth noting all the storylines the New York Times is publishing today about Tigray and TDF will be there for generations to come to enrich the history of Tigrayans much the same way Ras Alula's 1887 storyline has done over the years.

Ethiopia crisis - UN calls for a negotiated ceasefire to end the conflict
The conflict in Tigray has killed thousands of people and displaced more than 2 million. Both sides have been accused of human rights violations. The United Nations has called for a negotiated ceasefire and a political solution to the conflict. And then there's this - allegations that the government of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed deliberately set out to isolate and starve the people of Tigray.
The dark tunnel we all have been going through may come to an end. Even China is calling Abiy for who he is. Surprised to read CCGTN to cover Tigray like this. Did they realize they were cajoling a small-time dictator with no vision of what so ever or the recent TDF military victory surprised them and forced them to re-think?

Blinken calls for negotiated, indefinite ceasefire in call with Ethiopia's Abiy
WASHINGTON, July 6 (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in a call with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Tuesday stressed the need for all parties to commit to an immediate, indefinite, negotiated ceasefire, the State Department said. Blinken also urged Abiy to commit the withdrawal of both Eritrean and Amhara forces from Tigray region.
