The World Bank Group (WBG) on Friday expressed “great concern†about unrest in Ethiopia, saying the situation would undermine economic and social development ...It said as a member of the Development Assistance Group, it would keep engaging in dialogue with relevant Ethiopian authorities "to safeguard the rights and interests of all Ethiopians."
Since Abiy considered the World Bank and IMF as twin mothers of his government, maybe as a child he will listen to his mother's call to stop killing people. The world bank knows, much of the development Ethiopia achieved during the EPRDF years is gone now. Truth be told China owns Ethiopian Airline, Ethiopian Telecom, and other big industries and factories as loan collateral to its huge loan to Ethiopia. If Abiy sells Ethiopian Airlines he will get nothing. China will recover its loan first!. Ethiopia is bankrupted now and will be more bankrupt with Isaias Afeworki as its leader.
